Do you make oval baskets?
I do! Just not as often. The coil starts a little differently, and I use a slightly different technique. I'll show the process in my next course, coming out in Spring 2024.
What materials are you using?
Cotton piping cord size 3/8" (9.5mm) and 3mm macrame single twist string. Both can be found on my website valleybasketco.com or other online retailers. OR get creative and use whatever you have on hand!
How long does it take to make a basket?
1-8hrs
Why don't you show how to make the whole basket?
In my online course I give ALL the details! I provide a ton of free content and also some paid. Life is a balance :)
Do you make square baskets?
I do not. I wouldn't even know how to begin :D but if the idea comes to me in a dream someday, I'll be sure to share!
Do you sell your baskets?
I used to, but not currently.
Why does my string unravel?
Totally normal. Let it relax and do its thing. You'll find that it doesn't change the look of the basket, and in the process, it covers the piping cord really well.
I live outside the USA, can I still take the course?
Yes! As long as you speak English.
Does your course show how to do fringe?
No. Doing fringe isn't exactly beginner friendly, but after a few baskets, you can give it a go! I've shown how to add fringe on my IG page, just head to my highlights to view that post.
