You pick out materials, then start your project, only to quickly realize that the material you bought was either cheap quality or not the right fit for the basket you are making. Then you try again and again, wasting time and money, with the hope that eventually you'll find the right material for the job.
Or, perhaps you have a great high quality material but your tension is all wrong, leaving you with a misshapen basket, where some areas are loose and others are tight.
And what about the sides? You likely were unsure how big to make the base of the basket and didn't know how to start building the sides. A common mistake that can ruin the entire project!
The Why
When you don't have the right information, you end up wasting a lot of time, energy, and money.
The Solution
I know all of these struggles because at one time I experienced all of them!
I poured tons of money into materials that ended up being difficult to work with, or they made my basket look cheap.
I had misshapen baskets with oddly shaped sides. I had baskets with loose tension that just fell apart.
All of it.
What I needed was guidance from someone that had experience in basket weaving. I never found that person, so I became that person.
I spent years tweaking and fine tuning. I created a simple technique that can be used to create any basket. Then I created templates and patterns for beautiful baskets to take the guesswork out.
